Mark Linkous joined Thompson Insurance in 1997 working under his father-in-law, and has owned the agency since 1998. In 1999, Mark bought Roger Glass Insurance, and Glass Thompson Insurance was born. Today, Mark continues to oversee all of the agency's operations. His favorite part of working with Glass Thompson is the relationships that he has developed through the agency both with his clients and his coworkers.
He and his wife Karan have two children, and in his free time Mark loves cycling, following politics, and keeping chickens. Mark is a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture and grew up in Wolfe County near the Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge State Park
Karan Cowan Linkous has been a part of an insurance agency family since birth. Her grandfather John Thompson founded the Thompson Insurance Agency in 1938, and her father, George Cowan took ownership of the agency from 1967 until he handed it over to Mark and Karan in 1998. Karan graduated from Metcalfe County High School and attended both David Lipscomb College and the University of Kentucky, ultimately receiving an MA in Education from Western Kentucky University.
Today, Karan ovtr"sees several aspects of the office as well as managing our auto policies. She once made an appearance in an episode of General Hospital, and in her spare time, she enjoys reading mysteries, running, and spending time with her children John and Laura. She enjoys working in insurance because she believes that, as an agent, she is able to do a lot of good by helping people put things back together after a loss. Although she cannot replace memories, Karan does all she can to get her clients back on their feet.
Melinda Cornell was the agency manager of the Roger Glass Agency until she and her agency joined Thompson Insurance to form Glass Thompson. After almost forty years in the insurance industry, Melinda's favorite part of working at Glass Thompson is the opportunity she
has to help people every day through her work with business and C_?mmercial policies. On the weekends, Melinda can be found out with her horses, boating, spending time with family, or crafting her famous, hand-made cards which are adored by all who receive them. Although she rarely has the time, Melinda also loves to dance, and is an avid fan of the TV series Once Upon a time.
John Ray Ford
John Ray Ford joined Glass Thompson in 2006 after working for Dallas Cavanah and Paul Shade for eleven years. He handles our home and farm policies, and serves as our claim manager. His favorite part about working in insurance is being able to give people peace of mind that if something happened, he would take care of them. John Ray was graduated with the first class to graduate from Metcalfe County's current high school building, and went on to receive a degree in History and Business Management from Western Kentucky University. He now lives in Glasgow with his wife Kara Shive Ford and their son. John Ray enjoys hiking with his family, running, and watching Kentucky basketball. In fact, John Ray has not missed a Kentucky basketball game since 1989 having watched, heard, or attended over nine hundred consecutive games.
Jami Sneed worked for Mike Wilcome at American Insurance from 2000 until 2005 when she bought the agency. Then, in 2009, both she and American joined the Glass Thompson family, and now she manages our auto policies. Insurance runs in Jami's blood as her grandfather was an agent before her. She says that the best part of working with Glass Thompson is the opportunity to spend time with her co-workers and her clients who have all quickly become her friends.
She plays the violin, and in her free time, Jami enjoys paper crafts. A graduate of Glasgow High School, she lives in Barren County with her husband Robert Sneed of Farmer's Propane, and has one son, Andrew, who graduated from Barren County High School in 2014 and currently attends Eastern Kentucky University. As the mother of a college student, Jami treasures the time she gets to spend with her loved ones.
Justin Bruce is the newest member of the Glass Thompson team having joined in August of 2015. After graduating from Metcalfe County High School, Justin proudly served our country in the Army for four years. While in the service, he worked detail at two Presidential inaugurations and served as a pallbearer for the last veteran of World War I.
Now a husband and a father of three, Justin is earning a degree in elementary education at Western Kentucky University in addition to working at Glass Thompson. On the weekends, he loves nothing more than to be outdoors usually hunting or fishing.
Ellen Howard began working part time with Glass Thompson after graduating from Glasgow Christian Academy in 2013. She is now earning a degree in English from Union University, and works with the agency during her breaks.
Ellen enjoys working at Glass Thompson because she loves the people she gets to work with here. In her free time she enjoys reading, late-night movie marathons with her friends, swing dancing, and writing. She aspires to be a novelist, and was inspired to write by J. K. Rowling and C. S. Lewis.
